The president’s administration follows through on warnings to noncitizens who “glorify violence and hatred.”
State Secretary Marco Rubio announced that his department is revoking the visas of non-citizens found to “celebrate” the assassination of the political commentator and Christian apologist Charlie Kirk.
“We are not in the business of inviting people to visit our country who are going to be involved in negative and destructive behavior,” Secretary Rubio stated on social media. “America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens.”
President Trump’s administration issued warnings in the wake of Kirk’s murder last week. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau requested that the public report any non-citizens “praising, rationalizing or making light of the event” on social media to the State Department.
Deputy Secretary Landau stated, “I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors in our country.”
President Donald Trump faulted the “radical left” for the assassination and has committed to uncovering the organizations that support and fund political violence.
